Privacy Policy

1. Who processes your data
The Snowify service (the snowify.sk website and the Snowify app for ski schools and rentals) is operated by JMDES s. r. o., Gagarinova 16411/7C, 821 05 Bratislava – Ružinov, Slovakia, company ID (IČO): 57 553 343, tax ID (DIČ): 2122824891, VAT ID: SK2122824891, registered in the Commercial Register of the Bratislava III Municipal Court, section Sro, file no. 198420/B.
For privacy questions, contact us at the e-mail below or by phone at +421 911 865 342.
2. Our role
As a controller we process data of website visitors, data from the website form, data about the schools that are our customers (contact persons, invoicing), and data needed for signing in and keeping user accounts secure.
As a processor we process the data a ski school enters into the app about its clients, their children, instructors and other staff. The school is the controller of this data: it decides what to enter and what it is used for. We process it only on the school's behalf and only to provide the Snowify service.
If you are a client of a ski school and want to exercise your rights (e.g. access or erasure), please contact the school directly. We will help the school handle your request.
3. The snowify.sk website and form
In the website form (demo or question) we collect your name, e-mail, phone (optional), school name, request type and your message. We use it only to reply, arrange a demo and prepare an offer. The legal basis is handling your request before a contract and our legitimate interest in answering questions. We keep it as long as needed to handle the request and follow-up communication, at most 2 years after the last contact if no contract is concluded.
To measure website traffic (number of visits, pages viewed, device type) we use Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager, which store cookies in your browser. We show no ads on the website and do not use the data for advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Our host (Vercel) technically processes your IP address and browser data with every request in order to deliver the page and protect against abuse.
4. Data in the Snowify app
Depending on what the school uses, the app may contain the following data (the school decides which fields it fills in):
- Clients and children: name, phone, e-mail, language, year or date of birth, nationality, address, skiing level, notes and warnings; for organisations also company and VAT IDs.
- Rental: height, weight and shoe size of the client and child (to choose equipment sizes), rentals, deposits and service orders.
- Orders and payments: lessons, group courses, prices, discounts, payments, invoices (number and due date), cancellations and receipts.
- Journal and attendance: instructors' notes on lessons and course attendance.
- QR registration: data the client fills in themselves in the school's form via a QR code.
- School staff: name, e-mail, phone, language, role, locations, contract, licence and hourly rate, disciplines and languages, availability, pay and optionally the instructor's skill rating (not visible to the instructor).
- Accounts and security: e-mail and password (stored only in encrypted form), sign-in records, change audit, error logs and problem reports sent by the user.
- Notifications: if an instructor enables phone notifications, we store a technical device identifier to deliver them.
5. Purposes
- Providing the Snowify service to the school: bookings, instructor schedule (Plachta), group courses, rental and service, cash register and payments, payroll, statistics and exports for the school.
- Notifications to school staff (e.g. a new or changed lesson) in the app, by e-mail or on the phone.
- Sign-in, account protection, fixing errors and technical support.
- The contract with the school and invoicing.
- We do not sell data from the app or use it for advertising.
6. Who we share data with
Data is processed only by providers we need to run the service, following our instructions:
- Supabase Inc.: database, sign-in and file storage. Data is stored in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany).
- Vercel Inc.: hosting of the website and app; server functions run in the European Union (Frankfurt).
- Google: traffic measurement on the snowify.sk website (website only, not the app).
- Apple, Google and Mozilla: delivery of notifications to the instructor's phone if enabled (only the notification text is transferred).
- E-mail delivery provider: invitations, password resets and e-mail notifications.
- Public authorities, only where required by law.
7. Transfers outside the European Union
Some providers (Vercel, Google) are companies based in the USA. Transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
8. How long we keep data
- Data in the app: for the duration of the contract with the school. When it ends, the school's admins receive an export of all data by e-mail. The school can be restored within 30 days; after that its data including files is permanently deleted.
- Client deleted by the school: a client without history is deleted completely. A client with history (orders, payments) is anonymised: personal data is overwritten and the documents remain for the school's accounting.
- QR registrations: 30 days; discarded registrations are deleted immediately.
- Change audit 2 years, error logs 90 days, read notifications 90 days, exports 7 days.
- Schools' invoicing data 10 years under the Slovak Accounting Act.
- Website form: see section 3.
9. Security
- Each school's data is separated in the database; a school sees only its own data.
- Access is governed by roles (admin, manager, booker, instructor) and locations; instructors see only the client data the school allows.
- Communication is encrypted (HTTPS) and passwords are stored only in encrypted form.
- Users are signed out automatically after inactivity; changing a password or deactivating a user ends all their sessions.
- Changes to important data are recorded in an audit log visible to the school's admin.
10. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Send us your request by e-mail; we will handle it without undue delay and within one month at the latest. For data entered into the app by a ski school, please contact the school (section 2).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic, Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava 27, www.dataprotection.gov.sk.
11. Browser storage and cookies
The Snowify app stores in your browser only what it needs to work: sign-in, the selected location, language and appearance. The snowify.sk website also uses cookies for traffic measurement (section 3).
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example for a new feature or a new provider. The date of the last change is shown at the top. We inform school admins about material changes by e-mail or in the app.
